Oh yea, I was a kid at the time
When the world was locked, no reason or rhyme
I had nowhere to go, nothing to do
And I was shocked, didn’t know what to pursue
But then one day, I found a poster
It said, “Come on, let’s learn about Krishna”
I thought, why not, let’s give it a try
Little did I know, it would change my life
I didn’t know what to expect
But I was excited, no room for neglect
My teacher was young, kind and full of joy
And with 10 students, we knew we’d enjoy
Respect and love, we all showed
For each other, our souls glowed
They saw beyond our bodies, to our spark within
And with love and kindness, they helped us begin
I learned to love, love Krishna, the Supreme
As time flew by, it felt like a dream
But then another flyer caught my eye
‘Let’s learn about Kid Krishna, I couldn’t deny
This time, I had no doubt
For Krishna, my love had sprouted
My teacher, a monk, with courage and grace
Taught us how Krishnas love is an embrace
Everything fell into place, it was picture perfect
And with gratitude, tolerance, and respect
I faced the world, after two years of lockdown
With all the tools, I wouldn’t break down
And at the end of it all, I knew
It was because of Krishna, my love grew
And every day, I am grateful to my gurus
For it is because of them, my light shines pure.
